Together with his brother Laurent, Rogier built a ceramics workshop in Aalter that was given the name Perignem (per ignem : by the fire). In 1955 Rogier left Perignem and founded a new studio with his wife, which was called Amphora in 1960. He became famous for his extraordinarily subtle glazes in a beautiful orange-red.
