Vintage lounge table atrributed to Rogier Vandeweghe
Lounge table atrributed to Rogier Vandeweghe (Belgium, 1923-2020) in black painted wood, very nicely patinated, and with a ceramic top in stunning red. In very good condition, with light wear to the paintwork. The table top is undamaged.
Together with his brother Laurent, Rogier built a ceramics workshop in Aalter that was given the name Perignem (per ignem : by the fire). In 1955 Rogier left Perignem and founded a new studio with his wife, which was called Amphora in 1960. He became famous for his extraordinarily subtle glazes in a beautiful orange-red. He enjoyed international recognition.
